“I’d do anything for her,” people walk for domestic violence victims in Idaho Falls

Dozens of people in neon shirts and high heels walked throughout downtown Idaho Falls Tuesday night. It was all an effort to raise awareness for domestic violence and sexual assault. For some people it was a much more personal event.

“This is in memory of my niece Kenzie, I’d do anything for her,” said Bob Dennison.

One family made the journey in the annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event put on by the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault center in Idaho Falls. Carrie Madden lost her daughter to domestic violence in July of 2014.

“Our daughters were going to school in Logan Utah and our 19 year old daughter was murdered by an ex boyfriend,she was shot to death along with her friend Johnathan Sadler,” said Carrie Madden.

The family said they wanted to make the walk in hopes of creating more awareness for victims of both sexual assault and domestic violence.
