Police: Man crashes vehicle, hijacks motorcycle in chase

Boise police say a man has been arrested after crashing a vehicle, hijacking a motorcycle and involving officers in a high-speed chase.

The Idaho Statesman reports that 39-year-old James Michael Cox has been arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident, eluding police, grand theft and burglary.

According to Boise police, an officer on Friday attempted to pull over a gray Suzuki SUV with no license plates that Cox was driving. Cox refused to stop and the officer didn’t pursue him. Later, another officer saw the Suzuki crash at an intersection, which involved hitting another vehicle that hit a bicyclist who was off his bike.

Officers say Cox then forcibly stole a motorcycle from its owner and led police on a high-speed chase down Interstate 84. Officers eventually apprehended Cox in Homedale.
