UI creates task force in connection to feral cat program

University of Idaho President Chuck Staben has created a task force to address issues with a vermin control program aimed at removing feral cats from campus.

The university is under fire for a program conducted by the campus veterinarian in which he euthanized feral cats on campus. The Moscow-Pullman Daily News found the university failed to receive the appropriate approval for the program.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports that UI Communications Director Jodi Walker says the task force has been meeting since September and will present its findings and any policy changes by Oct. 1.

Walker says Staben is expected to look over the findings and take action on any policy changes right away.
