Blackfoot’s sugar beet factory being torn down
A big piece of Blackfoot history is being torn down. The old sugar beet factory near Highway 91 is being demolished.
The factory stood for over 110 years and used to produce for Amalgamated Sugar, the second-largest sugar beet processor in the nation.
It will be quite a process taking the building down, little by little. There is no word yet on what will be taking the building’s place.
