Bear cub spotted on Utah golf course

Wildlife officials are looking for a black bear cub that’s been spotted on a Utah golf course.

The Daily Herald newspaper of Provo reports that the approximately year-old cub was first spotted Monday morning near the Spanish Oaks Golf Course in Spanish Fork.

Police Lt. Matt Johnson says the bear was later reported on the golf course itself. Officials don’t believe there are any other bears accompanying the cub in the area.

He says state wildlife officials have set a live trap for the bear and plan to return it to its natural habitat. People are being warned not to approach the creature if they see it.

A bear cub about the same age was also spotted near the course on Sept. 15.
