Afton man killed in accident
A 25-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in a crash south of Afton.
Wyoming Highway Patrol reported Kurt Jensen, of Afton, crashed near milepost 82 on US Highway 89, about 2 miles south of Afton.
Officers said Jensen was travelling at a high rate of speed and lost control of his 1996 Plymouth Voyager van. The van went off the east side of the road causing it tip and roll.
Jensen was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected, police said.
Wyoming Highway Patrol said this is the 94th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. There were 117 fatalities during this same time period in 2015, they said.
