Liz Cheney: Trump remarks appalling but she still supports

Count Liz Cheney among the Republicans standing by Donald Trump.

A growing number of Republicans in the House and Senate have stopped supporting their party’s presidential nominee because of remarks he made about women.

Cheney said Monday Trump’s comments are appalling but Hillary Clinton’s actions are far worse. Cheney says Clinton’s handling of emails as secretary of state put her self-interest above national security.

Cheney is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who in May said he supports Trump.

Cheney is the Republican nominee for Wyoming’s lone seat in the U.S. House. Her Democratic challenger, Ryan Greene, might also vote for Trump.

Greene says Trump’s comments are inexcusable but he hasn’t decided how he will vote. He says neither Trump nor Clinton has earned his vote yet.

Cheney is a former State Department official and Fox News commentator. Greene owns an oilfield services company.
