Man arrested for felony DUI after hitting deputy patrol vehicle

Idaho Falls Police arrested 39-year-old Alejandro G. Rodriguez for felony driving under the influence early Sunday morning.

Rodriguez of Idaho Falls was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

According to reports, officers attempted to stop a 2002 Cadillac Escalade, driven by Rodriguez, after observing it strike a dumpster in the parking lot of Jack in the Box on Woodruff around 1:43 a.m. Rodriquez fled from police.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the vehicle at 12th and Woodruff. Rodriguez stuck a deputy’s patrol vehicle and continued to drive recklessly. Rodriguez eventually stopped at June and 15th Street and jumped out of the vehicle into the canal.

Rodriguez was also arrested for two Bonneville County warrants, driving without privileges and
resisting arrest
