Convicted rapist found in Connecticut extradited to Idaho

A convicted rapist from Idaho who was found with a machete at a camp site in Darien last month has been extradited back to his home state.

The Stamford Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/2egbAHH ) 35-year-old Brian Cook was placed on a flight to Idaho from the Westchester County Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

Cook was wanted in Idaho for a parole violation after he left the state without permission at the end of August. He was placed on parole following the conclusion of his prison sentence for the repeated rape of a 13-year-old girl.

Cook was apprehended at Cherry Lawn Park on Sept. 13.

Police say Cook told officers he was trying to reach Canada and had walked to Darien from Philadelphia after hitchhiking across the country.
