Perea waives preliminary hearing in vehicular manslaughter case

Nicholas Perea, who was involved in a fatal crash on 17th Street, waived his preliminary hearing in Magistrate Court Tuesday. Bonneville County Prosecutor John Dewey explained that means Perea legally agreed there was probable cause for the case to proceed.

He will appear for arraignment in 7th District Court in Idaho Falls on October 31. He currently faces felony charges of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving.

Perea has been free on bond since the original charges were filed.
