Students awarded for job shadowing and Career Mentoring Day

Friday was the Career Mentoring Day awards luncheon at Eastern Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls.

It’s an opportunity for students from surrounding school districts to job shadow local employers, then give and receive feedback. This gives them a chance to learn more about a possible career path and whether it’s something they want to pursue or choose another field.

“It just makes their day. They enjoy the day they spend with the employers and the time that the employers take to work with them and show them what it really is like to work,” said Shirrie Brown, Coordinator for the Idaho Falls Community Transition Team.

The yearly program is put on by IFCTT and held at EITC. It’s made possible by the many volunteers and host businesses throughout the area. Lunch was provided by Olive Garden and served by employees from Cargill. Eyewitness News anchor Todd Kunz was the emcee.
