Colorado fugitive arrested after assaulting officers
A domestic dispute call in Oneida County Friday turned into a foot chase and the arrest of a Colorado fugitive.
Deputies responded to a call stating Stephen Victor Crouse, 34, attempted to strangle his spouse, Jeana Crouse, and threatening to hurt her family. Stephen Victor Crouse then led officers on a foot chase. At this time officers discovered he was wanted for escaping a Colorado state prison program.
When Stephen Victor Course was located, he assaulted deputies by hitting them, headbutting them and even spitting on them. He was tased and then taken into custody.
Stephen Victor Crouse has a large number of charges against him because of this incident. He is charged with the following misdemeanors:
two counts of domestic violence two counts of resisting arrest one count for possessing controlled substances one count of injury to a child one count of destruction of a telecommunications device
He was also charged with the following felonies:
one count of attempted strangulation on spouse four counts of battery on an officer one count of attempted strangulation on an officer one count of aggravated assault with weapon on an officer
He also has a felony warrant for his arrest out of Colorado. Jeana Crouse has been charged with one felony county of harboring a fugitive and one misdemeanor count of delay and obstructing an officer.
Both are being held in the Caribou County Jail. Three Oneida County deputies and one Idaho Fish & Game officer were involved in the arrests. Officers were provided medical attention for minor injuries.
