Local youth star in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Bang”

For the 19th year the Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre gives local young people the chance to perform on stage in front of an audience.

This year the production is “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” Youth and adult performers say it’s about more than just learning to act.

“I think when you work to accomplish something with a bunch of kids, something special comes out of it,” Kenny McMurphy said. “You accomplish something, and I think that’s the way it is for the kids. Once we’re done they made good friends. At the end of the day we’re like a family.”

11 year-old Dallin Serr agrees.

“I like that it gives you good experience and it helps you build a relationship with others around you and makes you get good friends,” Dallin said.

9 year-old Emma Nichols feels the same way.

“I like that they’re kind, considerate people that will look after you and help you memorize,” Emma said.

The show runs November 11, 12 ,13 ,14 at the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorim at 7:00p.m. , with a 2:00 p.m. Matinee on Saturday.

Tickets are available at the door and at ifyac.org.
