Hunters and fishers can return online to buy licenses and tags after Idaho Fish and Game took down the system after word its online vendor, Active Networks, had a data breach in August.
Roger Phillips, a spokesperson for Idaho Fish and Game, said there’s no record of anyone’s information being downloaded from Active Networks’ system. However, there is evidence someone was able to get in.
People using the system will notice something different: You will now have to create a username and password to use it. This extra step was added as an extra layer of protection, which the agency said is a good trade-off.
You can go to the system here, otherwise you can still visit one of the more than 380 vendors statewide, or call 1-800-554-8685.
