Sugar-Salem cross country team donates fundraiser money to Crisis Center

The Sugar-Salem cross country team used their skills in running and competition to do some good for a local charity organization. In a check donation ceremony Wednesday the team donated $1,000 to the Rexburg Family Crisis Center that they earned after participating in two fundraising races they hosted, “The Bone and Back” Race and the Upper Valley “Turkey Trot”.

50 athletes with the team participated in the racing events this year and the team plans to hold them again next year. Assistant coach Jansen Jardine says they do it because of how important it is to help those in need at this time of year.

“I was just talking to the lady in charge and her statistics last year they were helping 80 families. This year they’re over 125 families, so there’s a huge need here in South East Idaho,” says Jardine.
