Body of Idaho man found in vacant ranch building

Lincoln County, Wyoming investigators have identified the body of a man found by a rancher in an unoccupied ranch building. In a news release, Sheriff Shane Johnson identified the man as 30-year-old Idaho resident Jacob Ivan Rasmussen. Rasmussen’s body was found in a building about 25 miles north of Kemmerer, Wyoming at around 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 2. The investigation is still active and ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking public help in locating Rasmussen’s vehicle. It is a black, 2010 Toyota 4-Runner with the Bannock County license plate 1B Z 7355. Wyoming Game and Fish and the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office are also participating in the investigation. Anyone with information about Rasmussen’s recent activities or who may have seen his vehicle should contact the Lincoln County, Wyoming Sheriff’s Office at 307-877-3971 in Kemmerer or 307-885-5231 in Afton.
