Warrant issued for serial forger after she fails to appear for sentencing

7th District Judge Greg Moeller issued a bench warrant Monday for Peggy Rodriguez.

The woman was to be sentenced on five forgery-related charges in Rexburg Monday morning, but failed to show up to court.

Judge Moeller said Rodriguez is the wife of Nicolas Rodriguez, an illegal alien he sentenced to 10 years in prison for forgery and other related charges in September.

Both were thought to be part of an organized effort to defraud check loan stores between Rexburg and Pocatello.
