Burglars strike for a third time in Preston

Once again, the City of Preston is dealing with burglaries. Two more businesses were burglarized over the weekend.

Tattles Bar and Grill was burglarized for a second time early Sunday morning. Just like with recent robberies, a window was broken and some cash was taken.

This makes nine city businesses burglarized in about two months.

But now it’s spread beyond city limits. The county is also dealing with burglaries. On Sunday, the It Fitz Storage Sheds in Franklin were also broken into. According to Franklin County Sheriff Dave Fryar, locks were cut off four of the units. Fryar said the storage shed owners were out of town at the time so police are still working with them to determine what was taken.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is also looking for a stolen vehicle. Fryar said a Franklin woman came out of church on Sunday and found her car was missing. The description is a green 1994 Isuzu pick-up truck. The license plate number is IF 55159. Anyone who sees this vehicle is encouraged to report it immediately.

Police are not sure at this point if the burglaries from the weekend are related to each other or not. The investigations are still ongoing.

Anyone with any information on these burglaries and thefts can call the Preston Police Department at 208-852-2433 or the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 208-852-1234.
