More grant money for the Museum of Idaho expansion project

The Museum of Idaho received at $10,000 grant that will go towards the facility’s expansion project.

The grant money was donated to the museum by the REA Charitable Trust Grant. The museum anticipates having architectural plans for the expansion come next year, and projects breaking ground in fall.

Currently, the museum has close to 25,000 objects of local historical significance sitting in storage collecting dust.

“This museum was originally built to tell Idaho stories and we are not able to do that because we lack the space. So this is why the expansion is necessary,” said museum grant director Kim Lee.

“With more items on display people will have a bigger understanding of our history and who we are today,” Lee said.
