Evening Weather Forecast Dec 24

Well our storm that moved through brought a lot more snow to some places than others. Malad, Preston, and the Lost River areas saw several inches of snow. Most other locations only saw wind, rain, and maybe a few inches of snow.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with breezy conditions and a few snow showers. New snow accumulations will range from barely an inch to several inches on south facing mountain slopes. Lows in the teens and 20’s. Blowing snow onto roadways will be an issue.

Christmas Day (Sunday), off-and-on snow showers with mostly cloudy skies shifting to partly cloudy skies by the afternoon hours. Some wrap around moisture will keep things active near the WY/ID state line. It will still be breezy and daytime highs will mostly be in the teens and 20’s.

Monday, with the exception of a stray snow shower near the WY/ID state line, count on partly cloudy to mostly clear skies across the region. There is a chance of some fog in some mountain valleys, but it won’t be overly widespread. Highs in the teens and 20’s.

Tuesday, another storm moves in from the NW bringing snow showers by noon in the central mountains and scattered showers to everyone else by the late afternoon. Highs in the 20’s with winds picking up in the afternoon hours.
