Pocatello man held on aggravated assault charge

Justin K. Hoskins, 36, was ordered held on $25,000 bond on felony charges of burglary and aggravated assault during a court appearance Thursday.

Pocatello Police arrested Hoskins late Tuesday night. According to reports, Hoskins entered a residence on Jason Avenue through the front door, looking for a family member he believed was inside. Police said he allegedly threatened people inside the house while holding a shovel. No one was struck or injured.

Police said Hoskins also discharged a firearm into the air outside the house. For that, he was charged with misdemeanor discharge of a firearm within city limits.

According to court records, a preliminary hearing on the felony charge is set January 11. An arraignment on the misdemeanor is set January 19. Hoskins already faces court dates on two felony and one misdemeanor drug charges.

35-year-old Lonni Hoskins was arrested at the same time. She was charged with disturbing the peace outside the house.
