Getting artsy at the Artitorium

Now that the holidays are over and the kids are back in school from winter break, some parents are trying to figure out something to do with their tots that is both fun and educational.

The Artitorium just west of Broadway in Idaho Falls is looking to provide parents and their little ones some fun interactive programs. They have made changes, such as offering a Family Fun Art Night for every age that will be held every Monday, not just once a month.

Also on the full calendar of events are a Parent Play Date that will take place every Wednesday, and a Time for Tots that will be every Tuesday.

Visual arts director Georgina Goodlander explains why the Artitorium is changing things up.

“We are in our third year of operation, now so we are really working on trying to come up with new programs and activities to encourage kids and families to come back again and again,” Goodlander said.

Goodlander also said it’s important to keep people interested with new things. “The new forest scene behind me. Which kids can collaborate on. We have junk jam, which is part of the Youth Festival. You can hit different parts and pieces with sticks to make music,” Goodlander said.
