Update: Fire crews trying to save what is left of Madison County home

Update 3:36 pm: The Madison Fire Department is still working to put out a fire at a home at 1513 Red Cedar Road in Hibbard. According to the fire department, the fire was discovered about 10 am this morning when the family returned home from an errand and found the home burning. By the time crews arrive at 10:05 am the attic of the home was fully involved with fire. Crews are still trying to save what they can.

Madison Fire Department sent three engines, three water tenders, two ambulances, a command vehicle and 20 personnel to work the fire scene. Mutual aid was requested for assistance from Fremont County, for two water tenders and an engine plus personnel to assist; and an engine and personnel from Jefferson County.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Update: Crews are still working to put out the fire at a home in Hibbard. Crews say the home is likely a total loss.

Original Story: A home in Madison County is burning but crews from Madison Fire Department and South Fremont are at the home working to extinguish the fire.

The fire at a home off Red Cedar Road in the Hibbard area started at about 10:05 a.m. The family was able to evacuate and no one was injured. Crews are still fighting the fire.
