Governor reappoints four water resource board members

The Idaho Senate has confirmed new terms for four members of the Idaho Water Resources Board. The four include Chairman Roger Chase of Pocatello, who was confirmed for a third term. Chase is a former legislator who represented the Pocatello in the Idaho House from 1996 to 2002. After serving on the City Council, Chase was Mayor of Pocatello for 8 years from 1988-1996. “It’s an exciting time to serve on the Water Resource Board,” Chase said. “We are marking important progress on recharging the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer, thanks to the financial support of Governor Otter and the Idaho Legislature, and the cooperation of many canal companies participating in that effort.”

“We are working to ensure that we manage our water resources on a sustainable basis throughout the state,” Chase added, “with aquifer management plans, water rights adjudications, a new Sustainability Policy in the State Water Plan, and working with water users and stakeholders.” , John “Bert” Stevenson of Rupert, Vince Alberdi of Kimberly, and Albert Barker of Boise. All four board members were reappointed by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter.
