Bannock County sends support to Preston survivors

On Wednesday afternoon, Bannock County Prosecutor Steve Herzog approached the county commissioners to pitch a move of support for the surviving family members of the Preston tragedy police are investigating as a murder-suicide.

In a unanimous move under the Friendly Amendment, the commissioners agreed to send a Victim Witness Coordinator on behalf of the county to offer emotional support to the family. Herzog said Franklin County currently does not have a witness coordinator.

“I think it’s a good service to provide to our neighbors,” Herzog said. “I’d like to help in any way we can.”
