UPDATE: Alert on ISU campus lifted, reports of gun case unsubstantiated

UPDATE: 3:35 p.m.

Idaho State University has issued an “all clear” following report of a person carrying a gun case on campus Monday afternoon.

ISU received report of an unidentified man carrying what appeared to be a gun case shortly before 2 p.m. on the north side of Frazier Hall. The report initiated an alert to the community.

Pocatello Police swept the campus, but could not substantiate the report. An individual matching the description could not be found.

Police are continuing to check buildings as a precautionary measure.

The campus alert was cleared by 2:35 p.m.

UPDATE 2:40 p.m. – School officials say the situation is all clear, and that reports of the gun case on campus cannot be substantiated at this time. The school is working on releasing more information soon.

Idaho State University’s Public Safety office is warning students that a person carrying a gun case has been spotted on the Pocatello campus north of Frazier Hall.

Students have been told to be ready to run, hide and fight.
