Update: Afton, Wyoming woman killed in three vehicle accident near border

UPDATE 8:15 a.m. 3/1/17 An Afton, Wyoming woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on US 26, 11 miles west of the Idaho/Wyoming border at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday. Idaho State Police said Ianne W. Henry, 77, was driving eastbound on US 26 in a 2014 Subaru. Cody Wright, 23, of Bedford, Wyoming was driving westbound in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. And John C. Hedges, 39, of Rigby was also westbound in a 2006 Chevy Silverado. According to ISP, Henry drove left of the center line and sideswiped Wright’s car. Henry’s pickup crashed head-on into Henry’s car. The woman was not wearing a seat belt. She died of her injuries at the scene. The westbound lane of traffic was blocked for approximately four hours. There were no reports of serious injuries to the other drivers or two passengers riding in Wright’s car.

Update: Bonneville County Sheriff’s office confirms that one person was killed in a three-vehicle accident near the Idaho/Wyoming border. No details about the others involved in the accident have not been released.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that the woman who died is from Bonneville County and was elderly. ISP is handling the investigation and will release additional details when they are available.

The accident is 11 miles west of the border at milepost 391. ISP says to expect delays while they investigate the crash and clear it from the road.
