Man is ok after accidentally driving into Snake River

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says that a man who accidentally drove into the Snake River is ok and crews are trying to retrieve the submerged truck.

According to Sgt. Bryan Lovell, the man was driving along the road at Gem Lake Marina on 49th South when he realized the road was closed off with a gate. The man swerved to avoid hitting the gate and ended up in the Snake River. The man was able to get out the vehicle and called the sheriff’s office.

The man was treated by EMTs for hypothermia and released. A towing crew is working with deputies from the Sheriff’s office now to remove the truck from the river.
