Mayor’s scholarship fund to award local students
Idaho Falls’ annual Mayor’s Scholarship Fund plans to award 45 scholarships totaling $42,000 to students from local schools. Then Mayor Jared Fuhriman established the fund in partnership with the District 91 and District 93 Education Foundations. Since 2006, the fund has provided 330 scholarships totaling more than $330,000 to area students. The scholarships help provide financial assistance to students who plan to pursue their post high school education. An endowment fund was also established to ensure the program’s future.
