Explosives found near the South Valley Connector in Pocatello

Pocatello Police have confirmed that the Idaho Falls Bomb Squad has been called to help remove some explosives found near the South Valley Connector.

Police say the charges were placed during construction of the connector to blow up the salt rock, for some reason these charges found off the top of Kirkham Trail did not detonate.

Police will shut down the South Valley Connector and Second South Avenue while the bomb squad takes care of the explosives.
