Parking concerns for Freedom Celebration

The new location for the 25th annual Melaleuca “Freedom Celebration” has been revealed. It is taking place at Snake River Landing, in Idaho Falls.

Melaleuca CEO Frank Vandersloot said parking is one of the biggest concerns. He said he and his team looked at this when picking a location for Freedom Celebration.

“There will be over 10,000 parking spots available on-site of Snake River Landing, so there will be big fields made available for parking,” Vandersloot said.

He said he is excited for the larger location but anticipates it not being long until they have to find a new one.

“The downside of Snake River Landing is overtime that will develop too and several years in the future, we’ll have to move again. For now, that’s the best place,” Vandersloot said.

Now that there is a new location, Vandersloot said there will be a wider view for guests to see the fireworks.

“The whole idea is if you’re running a firework show, is to paint the entire sky as a canvas”, Vandersloot said. “We’ll be able to do much bigger shows, many more special effects and people will be able to see the entire show. It’ll be a whole new experience for folks.”

The even will be more costly but Vandersloot said it is not about the money. He said this event is a tribute to the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of this nation and no money can amount to that.
