1.28 million air miles raised for ‘Wishes in Flight’ Telethon

More than 1,281,000 air miles were donated by people in eastern Idaho for the “Wishes in Flight” telethon for Make-A-Wish Idaho. The telethon took place Wednesday on KIDK and KXPI.

The goal was to raise 750,000 air miles.

The donated miles are used to help with airfare for a child and their family to help their wish to come true.

Make-A-Wish Idaho said they grant about 90 wishes per year. Last year, 93% of all Idaho wishes were travel-related.

Each ticket takes about 50,000 air miles. For a family of four, that would mean 200,000 air miles would be needed to help the family.

There’s still a way to donate by going to the Make-A-Wish website at idaho.wish.org.

People may give miles from Alaska, Horizon, Delta and United airlines. Southwest, American and Jet Blue air miles are also accepted at Idaho.wish.org website.

Below are the website and phone numbers for airlines in case you need to contact them to determine the number of miles on your account.

Delta – delta.com – 1-800-221-1212
United – United.com – 1-800-864-8331
Alaska Airlines – 1-800-252-7522
