Utah principal under investigation put on leave

A Salt Lake City elementary school principal has been placed on leave while police investigate a report of inappropriate conduct involving a student.

Reports say Edison Elementary School Principal Laurie Lacy is being investigated for an allegation made earlier this month.

A police detective says the investigation involves a single incident with a boy from the school and is “inappropriate in nature,” not necessarily sexual.

Police say no charges had been filed as of Wednesday.

Police had been made aware of the allegation by the school district and the Utah Division of Child and Family Services.

Lacy did not immediately return an email seeking comment Wednesday.
