ISU commencement ceremonies set

Idaho State University President Arthur C. Valais will confer 2,437 degrees and certificates during spring commencement ceremonies May 6 in the Holt Arena. 119 students will receive multiple certificates or degrees. Three distinguished faculty members will be acknowledged, 11 alumni will be recognized for professional achievement, and 12 outstanding students will be recognized. The 2017 Graduate Salute March through the Arch ceremony will begin at noon, May 5 at the Swanson Arch. It is located on the ISU Pocatello campus between Frazier Hall and the Physical Sciences Building. The tradition began in 2000. New students pass through the arch southward into campus each fall. In May, graduates look to the future by passing northward back through the arch. The ceremony is intended to symbolize their exit from ISU and entrance into new life adventures.
