Idaho Falls Police to release DNA phenotype snapshot

Idaho Falls Police will release a DNA Phenotype snapshot developed in the Angie Dodge homicide investigation on Wednesday. The police department’s Criminal Investigation Team plans to update the public on the status of the investigation. Dr. Steven Armentrout of Parabon Nanolabs will explain the DNA phenotype snapshot. According to the Parabon website, phenotyping “is the prediction of physical appearance from DNA.” Police hope to use DNA evidence collected at the crime scene over 20 years ago to help identify potential suspects. Police will also release a toll-free number to accept tips. Channel Blend will establish an automated Idaho Falls call center designed to assess and retain incoming calls. Similar efforts in other areas have generated a large number of incoming tips and Idaho Falls Police anticipate similar reaction in the unsolved murder case when the photo and phone number are released on Wednesday.
