Detailed Forecast for May 2, 2017

Much drier air will begin filtering in later today. A few scattered rain/snow showers possible into the high country especially early. But beginning Wednesday, expect dry and sunny conditions with the warmest temps of the year thus far!! Tuesday, morning clouds with a shower possible. Clearing skies later in the day and a little bit warmer as highs climb near 60°. Winds staying breezy at 10-25mph. Chance of rain 30%. Tonight, clearing skies and cool temps with lows into the 20’s and 30’s. Areas of frost expected! Winds becoming light and variable. Wednesday, mostly sunny skies with much warmer temps as highs push into the mid and upper 60’s. Winds light and variable. Thursday, sunny and warm with temps climbing into the mid and upper 70’s. Winds light from the southwest at 5-15mph. The rise in warmer temperatures, will help speed up high elevation snow melt. This means higher flows in area rivers and streams. A flood warning continues for the Portneuf River, and will remain in effect for quite some time.
