Well above average temps will be the theme across the West. Dry conditions with plenty of sunshine can be expected through Friday before thunderstorms return by the weekend. Thursday, sunny and warm with temps climbing into the mid and upper 70’s. Winds light from the southwest at 5-15mph. Tonight, mostly clear with cool temps in the low 40’s. Friday, very WARM with highs hitting the 80 degree mark. Mostly sunny during the first half of the day before turning partly cloudy late in the afternoon. Saturday, A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after Noon. Partly cloudy, with a highs near 80°. The rise in warmer temperatures, will help speed up high elevation snow melt. This means higher flows in area rivers and streams. A flood warning continues for the Portneuf River, and will remain in effect for quite some time.
