The Idaho Gives donation drive begins Thursday

The annual statewide fundraising drive Idaho Gives kicks off on May 4th, at midnight. The 24-hour drive helps nonprofit groups all across the state get extra funding for their causes.

This year the organizers for the event, the Idaho Nonprofit Center, hope to raise more than $1.2 million in just 24 hours. More than 700 causes in nearly every Idaho county are represented and hope to raise both money and awareness throughout the day Thursday.

“This is it! Idaho’s single largest day of giving is upon us, and this year is poised to be the best yet,” Idaho Nonprofit Center President and CEO Amy Little said. “With an updated giving platform on IdahoGives.org, stronger promotion and renewed energy, we hope to break a record for funds raised to support the organizations that do so much for our state.”

This year a variety of special prizes will also be awarded to nonprofits as well as part of the drive. For instance, the first nonprofit to get a donation after the midnight start time will also receive a prize of $500.
