ORIGINAL STORY: Two men are being held in the Madison County Jail in connection with the theft of two dirt bike motorcycles.

Zachary Berrett Packer, 25, and Nathan Garrett Empey, 21, were each charged with felony counts of grand theft and possession of stolen property.

Rexburg Police said two motorcycles, a Honda and a KTM brand, were reported stolen from two different Rexburg apartment complexes in the 600 block of 1st West sometime in the early morning hours Tuesday.

Captain Randy Lewis said officers developed information that led to the men at an apartment at 21 West 1st South on Wednesday. One of the bikes was found in a garage at that apartment.

Police believe both bikes were taken to Provo, Utah to be sold. One was believed to have been sold there, but one of the suspects wanted to bring the other motorcycle back to Rexburg with him.

The investigation into the thefts is continuing and additional charges may follow.
