Flood Watch issued for Henry’s Fork

Rising temperatures and rapid snowmelt are leading to more flooding concerns.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Flood Watch for the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River near Rexburg.

“Surges of snow melt in the headwaters of the Henry`s Fork and the Teton River that started earlier this week, will continue into Saturday. The two rivers are expected to cause flooding at their confluence near the city of Rexburg by Saturday night. Remember, A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible… but not imminent in the Watch Area. * At 9:16 AM Wednesday the stage was 9.1 feet. * Minor Flooding is possible. * Flood Stage is 9.5 feet. * Forecast…Flood Stage may be reached by Saturday evening.”
