Large power outage affects Eastern Idaho

Areas of Idaho Falls, Ammon and Iona lost power Friday evening. Approximately 2,707 customers are without power according to Rocky Mountain Power. The zip codes affected are primarily 83401, 83406 and 83427.

Power crews have been dispatched. The cause is being investigated, though many believe it is weather related. Strong, gusty winds were blowing across much of the surrounding region.

The estimated time of restoration is 10:30 p.m. MDT, Friday.
