Teton County Commissioners identifty possible fire station site

Teton County, Wyoming Commissioners have identified property that could serve as a future location for Hoback Fire Station 3 and employee housing. The area is known as “Horse Creek Station.” Commissioners will consider public comments beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Teton County Administration Building. Voters approved a Special Purpose Excise Tax project that will collect $6.8 million to help pay for the project. At the present time, Hoback Fire Station 3 is located on restricted, leased land, and is experiencing issues of overcrowding. According to commissioners, the SPET funding will be used to specifically for land acquisition and design. Construction is not likely to start for at least 12 to 18 months. “This project is an important step forward for Jackson Hole Fire/EMS,” said acting Fire Chief Mike Moyer. “It will accommodate the Department’s growth needs and is well located for staff and volunteers to respond to incidents.”
