Graduation day in Pocatello

Holt Arena in Pocatello was filled with caps and gowns on Friday as local high schools held their graduation ceremonies there.

Century High School, Pocatello High School and Highland High School all held ceremonies inside Holt Arena. New Horizon High School also held its graduation ceremony on Friday, but at the PHS auditorium.

Hundreds of seniors from each school lined the stage to receive their diplomas and complete their high school career.

“I feel like this enormous weight has just been lifted off my shoulders,” said Morgan Gallup, a graduating senior from Highland High School.

Many students said they were excited to be done with high school and move forward. Others said they were happy but sad to be leaving friends.

Whether the future includes going to college, serving an LDS mission or joining a branch of the military, these students feel they are ready for what the world holds.

Some goals among a few of the graduates who spoke with KIFI/KIDK were joining the Navy, becoming a K-9 handler, becoming a pilot and even getting a chance to walk on the moon.

The graduates said they look forward to what comes next.
