Mountain River Ranch hosts its American Hero Celebration

One of many Memorial Day celebrations in the area happened at Mountain River Ranch in Ririe to honor veterans past and present.

“It’s about saying, ‘Thank you’ and every year there gets to be more people and more people that are really excited about being here and doing this,” Tran King, Mountain River Ranch owner said. “Thanks to all the people that helped. There’s probably 25 people here that are just helping — everything is volunteer.”

Free food, ATV rides, wagon rides, live music, and a car show all filled the outside area. The sponsors and donations will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and 208 Cares.

“This morning we had a 5K and an 8K run. It’s sponsored by the Greater Association of Idaho Falls Realtors and it benefits 208 Cares — which is a local Idaho charity that builds adaptive homes for Idaho veterans,” Julie King Anglesey, King’s daughter, said.
