Ross Park now open for the season
The Ross Park Aquatic Complex in Pocatello is officially open for the season.
Opening day for the park was Saturday. The park opens on Memorial Day weekend every year.
Staff members at the park said it’s not usually super crowded and business is a little slower around Memorial Day and the first of the season. But business really picks up when the hot weather hits. The busiest month is typically July, according to Emalee Tanner, a senior lifeguard who has worked at Ross Park for four years.
You can ride the water slide, play in the Olympic pool, or float the lazy river. There is also a kiddie pool area open.
Both staff and patrons are excited to be back for another season.
“I’m super excited,” Tanner said. “I love this job. This is my fourth year back and I just love it more and more every year. It’s fun to meet all the people and we just have a good time.”
Ross Park is open seven days a week. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays the park is open from 12:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, it will be open from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday nights after 5 p.m. are family nights and admission is half price.
Costs are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, $5 for youth (ages 7 to 17) and $2 for kids (ages 1 to 6.)
