Community College board appointment process expedited

The State Board of Education has revised its process for selecting the first Board of Trustees for the College of Eastern Idaho. The board said it took the action based on community interest and feedback from local leaders. The action is aimed at speeding up the process so that the new community college can begin operations sooner. The board will accept cover letters and resumes from individuals interested in serving as a trustee from June 1 through June 23, 2017. Cover letters must include the applicant’s home address, state why the applicant is interested, highlight any relevant professional or personal experience, and include a resume. All applicants must live in Bonneville County. The board will select five trustees. One trustee will be selected in each zone and each trustee must live within the boundaries of his or her respective zone. Cover letters and resumes must be received by the board by June 23 via e-mail, fax, US Post Office, or hand delivery.
