Malad Independence Day celebration schedule

Malad is celebrating Independence Day this year with the theme “Traveling the USA.”

Below is a list of events for the celebration.

Monday, July 3rd

5:30 p.m. – Children’s Parade – ages 12 and under – N. Main by the Drive-In and walk to Malad City Park

6:00 p.m. – Snake River New Horizons Band

6:45 p.m. – Flag Ceremony and Volunteer of the Year

7:00 p.m. – Malad’s Got Talent Prelims – Must register with Eric Crowther by Friday, June 30. Prizes:12 and under – 1st – $100, 2nd – $75, 3rd – $50 — 13 and up – 1st – $300, 2nd – $200, 3rd – $100

Tuesday, July 4th

6:00 a.m. – Cannonade

6:00 a.m. – Fun Run – Sponsored by Distinguished Young Woman Program – Allen Drug Parking Lot

6-9:30 a.m. – Farm Bureau Pancake Breakfast – City Park – $7 adults, $5 kids 5-10, $25 immediate family

8:45 a.m. – Parade lineup – 300 West by the old high school

9:00 a.m. – Float judging begins

10:00 a.m. – Parade – Stops at the Military Monument for National Anthem & Taps

11-5:30 p.m. – Come set up at the park and enjoy some great food, local vendors, bounce house, knocker balls, bingo, watermelon eating contest, frozen t-shirt contest and more.

12:00 p.m. – Shootout at City Park – Malad Theater Guild

1:00 p.m. – Kids Races – City Park

2:00 p.m. – Malad High School Cheerleaders

2:30 p.m. – Vocal Expressions

5:30 p.m. – Dance Company Performance

6:00 p.m. – Malad’s Got Talent Finals

7:30 p.m.* – Party Rock Project

10:00 p.m.* – Fireworks at the Fairgrounds
