Pocatello/Chubbuck School District revises 17-18 calendar for eclipse
The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25 Board of Trustees revised the 2017-2018 school calendar at a special meeting on June 26.
The trustees decided to move the first day of school to Wednesday, August 23 as a precaution based on the expected influx of people in the area for the eclipse on Monday, August 21.
The changes in the calendar are as follows:
Monday, August 21st will be a noncontract day for staff
Tuesday, August 22nd will be a contract day for staff but students will still be out of school
Wednesday, August 23rd will be the first day of school
Wednesday, December 20th will be a contract day for staff and school will be in session to make up for the extra day off at the beginning of the school year.
