Camp Magical Moments creates safe place for kids with cancer

On a perfect Idaho summer today, dozens of campers gather in Swan Valley riding horses, making crafts, and practicing archery. All things just about every kid would jump out of bed to do in the summertime.

“I love camp,” said Jack, who is in his 6th year at the camp, “I just kind of belong here, we all do”.

Camp Magical Moments is a camp for kids with cancer, Ann Walsh began the camp 13 years ago with her husband. Every year sponsors and volunteers come together to make it something magical happen for kids like Jack.

In 2015, Jack missed camp because his cancer relapsed. Which is why the staff has made the last couple years he could go extra special. Some of the staff even wearing shirts reading “Jack’s Pack”.

This will be Jack’s final year in the camp as he “graduates” with his friends. The camp allows kids up to age 12, 13 if they have a birthday in June.
