Franklin County Medical Center looking for new administrator

Franklin County Medical Center in Preston is looking for a new administrator.

The previous administrator, Alan Bird, was recently told by the hospital board that his contract would not be renewed next month.

The board did not give a specific reason for letting Bird go. Thane Winward, trustee chairman for the hospital, said it all came down to “a lot of little things.”

KIFI/KIDK has received multiple emails from residents of Franklin County, claiming Bird was forcefully attempting to collect on bills and some even claimed he had committed fraud.

The hospital board did not confirm if any of those reports were true.

According to the Preston Citizen, after Bird was told his contract would not be renewed, he immediately handed in his keys.

The hospital is currently looking for an interim administrator until a replacement for Bird can be found.

Bird was previously the CEO of Deer Lodge Medical Center in Montana. An article by the Billings Gazette names Bird in a lawsuit for fraud.
